The Aravis mountains in the french Alps
are the ideal, and relatively unknown, place to go rock
climbing, with well equipped rock climbing
schools. Features include routes in La Culaz, and the
Colombiere cliffs of Le Grand-Bornand : cliffs, major
routes, magical outcrops of the limestone formations
in the Aravis, Bargy and Jalouvre mountains in the french
Alps. The sites are varied, with climbs for
all abilities which have been prepared over the years
by local climbers. These enthusiasts encourage you to
explore the best climbing spots in
their area.
The new topological guide to the Borne-Aravis area,
edited by l’Association Roc Altitude, is now available,
detailing 28 sites, 600 routes and 1400 pitches. This
climbing guide is for sale at the Tourist Office and
local shops.
